The economic and health crises caused by the Covid-19 pandemic have demonstrated the critical role of renewable energy sources such as hydropower in providing clean, green, reliable and affordable electricity.
Our commitment to members
In adjusting to the new global reality, we believe the hydropower sector needs a seat at the international table to influence strategic and policy decisions. We will listen to our members, help you to achieve the highest standards in sustainability, and be your voice on the world stage.
As a truly global, digital-first organisation, IHA will continue monitoring the sector, publishing and promoting good practices. We will advocate for our members and provide online services, through our website Hydropower.org, through our members’ community Hydropower Pro, and through our Knowledge Networks.
Our paper looks at the immediate impacts of the crisis on the hydropower sector and how developers and operators have responded. It also outlines recommendations to assist governments and international financial institutions as they develop their economic recovery plans.
